It’s the first book I’ve read that reminds me of Harry Potter because of the fantasy elements, the mystery, and the universal appeal to readers of all ages.įrom the first few chapters, I was invested in Amari and her quest to find her brother. Without the recommendation from the Currently Reading podcast, I never would have picked it up. This book is considered a middle grade fantasy novel but definitely can reach a wider audience.
